Adoptions

WE ARE AT UPLAND PETSMART!

We host canine and feline adoptions every Saturday from 11 am to 1pm at the PetSmart in Upland, CA at 1935 North Campus Avenue which is located inside the Colonies Crossroads Shopping Center. Our process includes an application, interview and home visitation if we feel you are a good match for one of our rescues.  Our goal is to adopt the right dog or the right cat to the right home.

If you are serious about adopting one of our rescues and are committed to providing a safe, loving, forever home, you may request an application. Our area of service is within a 30 minute drive from Upland.

ROONEY -- I am under a year old. That would mean that I am still a puppy!  The family that I came from didn't want me and they were turning me into a high kill shelter in the City of San Bernardino, CA.  A rescuer happened to be in the parking lot and intercepted me and my brother, Rossi, before I could be impounded.  The rescuer contacted HOPE and HOPE was kind enough to take me in.  I am a terrier mix.  HOPE made sure I was neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, so I'm all ready to go.  I love my brother, Rossi, and we play all the time.  I'm the "boss" brother so I'm a little more vocal than my sweet brother.  We hope our new home will be our forever home.  We want to be happy and have a family to love us back.  My brother has an eye infection right now, so he's not pictured, but he's a really nice boy, just like me.

Adopted!

COREY -- I am about 3 years old.  I am a Spaniel mix. I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. I was rescued from the Devore shelter in San Bernardino, CA.  I am a sweet boy and I have a kind face.  I need to be adopted by an experienced adopter without children.  I have some trust issues and am unsure in certain situations.  My foster Mom knows how to recognize when I am "acting out" and I know my boundaries when I'm with her.  My new forever best friend will have to work together with my foster Mom to understand how to handle me when I am afraid or unsure. I need a savvy, experienced adopter who will work together with me.  I may have been abused by my former owner.

Adopted!

TOTO -- My name is Toto. I am a male terrier mix.  I think I'm about 3 years old. I was relinquished by my owner to a local animal hospital.  A volunteer from HOPE saw me and asked HOPE if we could take me. HOPE said yes, and now I have a chance of finding a real FOREVER home, not just a home until I'm not wanted any more.

I am happy and playful and I love people and children. I get along with most dogs but I try to be the alpha dog when I think I can get away with it.

One of my friends at HOPE that walks me every week just took me to Wags Doggie Salon and I was just groomed and my hair is now cut short.  I think I'm very cute because I have black markings on my ears and on my legs.  I am a very sweet boy and I look forward to meeting you!

ROSSI -- My name is Rossi.   I am Rooney's little brother.  I have an allergy, so I'm on a special diet.  I need my eyes cleaned every day because they produce a lot of discharge.  Otherwise, I think I'm pretty cool.  I have a foster mom and dad and boy, have I learned so much since I was taken in by them.  They have taught me what it's like to have a home and to have parents that love me.  Every day they care for me, I love them even more.  Over the holidays, I got to go with them to visit friends and family and I had a blast.  I knew I had to be on my best behavior and I was.  Everyone I met loved me.  I'm a pretty nice boy if I must say so myself.  I'm very gentle and loving, but I do tend to bark.  My mom and dad make sure I behave.  I hope they decide they can't live without me.  I pretty much don't want to leave them.

Adopted!

FISCHER -- My name is Fischer.   I am a male Terrier mix.  I am somewhere from 2 to 3 years old.  HOPE rescued me from the Devore Animal Shelter.  I was on the euthanasia list I was told.  I don't quite know what that means but some of the other dogs said it's not a good thing.

I got a nice bath when HOPE saved me and then I had some sort of operation.  A nice volunteer from HOPE came to pick me up.  I was so scared.  I could hardly move.  I wouldn't walk and I know I had my tail between my legs.  But the nice HOPE volunteer picked me up and kissed my head and carried me to her car.  I had a fun time looking out the window on the way.  It felt good to be sitting in her lap. She talked to me the entire way and it made me feel safe.  I'm a nice little boy.  I don't know why my former owners didn't love me.  But I feel safe now and I have HOPE!

PEPPER --  I am about 2 to 3 years old.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  A family found me in Los Angeles and the Dad brought me home, but the Mom didn't have time for me so she asked HOPE if they could help.  HOPE took me in and I've been having a grand time with my foster Mom and her dog.  I am shy when I don't know you but otherwise I am just a love bug.  I love my foster Mom and friends that I live with and I'm hoping maybe if I don't find a "forever" family, I might stay with them.  They are so very good to me and I've learned so much since I went to stay with them.

Adopted!

MARCO --   I was rescued by HOPE from the San Bernardino City shelter in San Bernardino, CA on my very last day. I am neutered, vaccinated and I've been microchipped, too.  I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for HOPE.  HOPE saved my life.  I'm a tiny little guy but I'm very feisty and fun, too.  I get along with everyone and enjoy playing and staying close to my foster Mom and Dad who have been kind enough to allow me to stay with them while I try to find a permanent home.  My foster Mom and Dad are so great, but then they volunteer with HOPE, so it just makes sense.  If you're interested in me, contact HOPE because they will know if you're a good match to be my "forever" home.

MORGAN --   I was rescued by HOPE from the Apple Valley shelter in Victor Valley in San Bernardino, CA on my very last day along with Murray. I am spayed, vaccinated and I've been microchipped, too.  I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for HOPE.  I am full of energy and really love EVERYONE.  I'm so happy to be alive.  I am a lively, energetic and lovely girl if I must say so myself.  I will give you kisses and lick your face as long as you will let me.  I am about 2-3 years old.  I'm kind of shy about telling you my exact name because I honestly don't know.  I'm a busy girl and will keep my new family busy.  I am always happy to see another day after coming so close to losing my life.  Thanks, HOPE.

MURRAY --   I was rescued by HOPE from the Apple Valley shelter in Victor Valley in San Bernardino, CA on my very last day along with Morgan.  We were on the euthanasia list and we knew it wasn't very good.  HOPE saw us and even though we looked pretty dirty and downright ugly, they took a chance on us.  They saved us and got us a great bath and groom and look at us now!!  We just the happiest dogs ever.  You'll have to excuse us that sometimes we get so caught up being alive, that we forget to stop kissing and jumping and just being happy.  We have a lot to learn but we're going to do our best to try.  I have been neutered.  I am still on a medical stay because I've had a bit of an issue with my bladder.  HOPE is trying to find out what is happening, so until then, I'm just going to chill a bit.  I feel great otherwise so it won't be long before I'm back out there wagging my tail and looking to give you some love and kisses.  I'm about 2-3 years old, too.

DEXTER --   I was relinquished by my owner to HOPE.  My owner had a very busy schedule and I was left alone so much.  My owner felt badly for me not having enough love and attention so she turned to HOPE for help.  I am now neutered and microchipped and all ready to find a great new home!!  I am learning a bit more of how to socialize with other dogs and learning to walk on a leash and how to interact with people at PetSmart.  I really am a nice little boy if I do say so myself.  I want to please, and I want to learn and I really want a family that will love me and spend time with me so I can give them all the love back that I know I can give!

LEA --   I was rescued from the Corona Animal Shelter in Corona, CA by HOPE.  I am a Keeshond mix.  I am about 5 years old.  I am gentle, calm and sweet.  I am learning a lot from my foster mom.  My foster mom says that I am a little too curious about cats, so it would be best if I don't go to a new home with one.  I am a medium sized dog and I do have an undercoat so I would need to be brushed and groomed regularly.  If you would like to meet me, please know I might be a little shy at first, but I really am a very lovely girl.

Adopted!

CHARLIE --   I was rescued from the Devore Animal Shelter in Devore, CA by HOPE.  I am a poodle/terrier mix. I am about 6 years old.  I was on "the list" and time was running short for me.  The shelter had a hoarding situation where 60 dogs were impounded and that meant the rest of us "strays" had a lot less time to find a home.  It's hard enough trying to find a home, but when the shelter gets in 60 dogs, that means our time goes down to about zero.

I was terribly matted and really dirty.  I know I had fleas.  HOPE had me bathed and groomed.  The groomer said that I needed to pretty much be shaved down because the matts were tangled so badly.  I feel a lot better now.  I give lots of kisses because I'm very thankful. I had a bladder infection, my teeth hurt so badly due my previous owner not giving me any dental care, my back legs are weary from arthritis because I was left out on the cement in all sorts of weather, even when it was very cold.  I'm so thankful to HOPE for giving me a chance.  Without them, I wouldn't be here today.  Here's a picture of me with Santa taken just the other day.  My HOPE is that I find a home with people to love me and understand my feelings and condition but HOPE wanted you to know that I'm safe and I'm very happy to be alive.

Adopted!

SOCHI --   I was rescued from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter in Moreno Valley, CA by HOPE.  I am terrier mix. I am about a year old.  I am just so sweet and pretty good looking if I must say so myself.  I had my first opportunity to show everyone what a good girl I am.  I was spayed before I could be bathed and groomed.  Once I get my spay sutures removed, I'm going to take a glamour shot so you can see how much cuter I'm going to look now that I have HOPE.  Thanks to HOPE, I have been saved.  Thank you, HOPE.

Adopted!

FRANCINE --   I was rescued from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter in Moreno Valley, CA by HOPE.  I am terrier mix. I am about two years old.  As you can see, I'm in a cast thanks to HOPE.  I don't remember what happened to me, but I think I must have been hit by a car.  I have a fractured pelvis and my femur is fractured in two places.  I most likely am going to need surgery for my hip and my femur.  Oh, yes, I also have to get spayed, too.  I will have that done all at one time.  HOPE has me being cared for and is consulting with two veterinarians to make sure I get the best treatment.  I was sitting in the shelter so my fractures are getting old so something must be done pretty soon.  Thanks to HOPE for caring enough to take care of me and provide the surgery I need to be whole again.
