Meet the Board of Directors

Margaret Coffman, President

 

Margaret Coffman is a founding member of HOPE and has been an animal advocate her entire life.  She has been a resident of Upland, CA since 1977.  In 1999, armed with a digital camera, Margaret created a website for the Upland Animal Shelter in order to showcase the impounded animals.  A New York transplant, Margaret was formerly an administrative assistant for a major retail chain and more recently in church ministry in children’s education and administration.  In 2003, she was recognized as one of the top 66 people in the Claremont/Upland area; in January, 2006 she was named a hometown hero in the City of Upland; in March, 2008 Margaret was named one of the 63 Women of Distinction in the 63rd Assembly District; and in September, 2009 Margaret was named one of Upland's Hometown Heroes at the Los Angeles County Fair.  Margaret oversees the day-to-day operation of the organization and is active in all areas of its outreach to the community.  Margaret is married to Ken, has a daughter, a son along with a beautiful grandson.  Margaret shares her home with two rescued dogs and cats.

 

Sharon Adair, Treasurer

 

Sharon Adair has been a resident of Montclair, CA for over 25 years.  She recently retired in 2008 and began volunteering with HOPE in early 2009.  Sharon has now assumed the position of Treasurer.  Besides her duties as the treasurer, Sharon also helps out one day a week at the adoption center located at PetSmart in Upland keeping HOPE felines clean and fed and brings HOPE dogs to the groomers.  Sharon is a member of the fundraising committee and helps to plan the major events held throughout the year.  Sharon shares her home with two cats, Candy and Tommy who adopted her.

 

Lindsay Passarello, Membership 

Lindsay Passarello became involved with HOPE in 2013 when volunteering for the HOPE fashion show as a model. Lindsay enjoys designing fashionable clothes for some of the HOPE dogs in the show!  Recognizing her project management skills and IT background is a perfect fit for her board position!  Lindsay joined the Board on the Membership team in 2017. 

 

Originally from Colorado, Lindsay moved to Southern California, attended High School in Carlsbad and has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.  She is married to David for 38 years, has one daughter and three dogs, two of which are HOPE rescues!
