Pound is an original play written by Etiwanda High School's drama teacher, Christian Kiley.

Pound is a family friendly play, despite some of its thematic elements.
Mr. Kiley, with a 3 year old child of his own,
has made sure that the content is school and child appropriate.
So feel free to bring the whole family!
This play will make you laugh, think, maybe even cry
and it will definitely leave a lasting impression.

The play follows the lives of cats, dogs, and other animals
in a pound who all have dreams of being adopted
and fears of being euthanized when they run out of time.

Across the country, every 6.5 seconds an animal is killed
because of the lack of a home and most never get the chance to even be adopted.
The cast and crew of Pound want to spread awareness of this injustice
that is affecting animals because of lack of human responsibility
to spay and neuter their pets.

It is the hope of the Etiwanda High School cast
to inspire you to save an animal's life
or to at least cherish your pets;
they are a not a convenience but a commitment for life.

WINNER OF CETA
(California Educational Theater Association)
FROM AREA 3! Awarded one of the TOP FOUR PLAYS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA by CETA.

A portion of the proceeds from the performance will be donated to HOPE
to purchase cat kennels for the new Upland Animal Shelter
tentatively scheduled to open in February of 2009.
