MEET THE HOPE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Margaret Coffman, President

Margaret Coffman is a founding member of HOPE and has been an animal advocate her entire life.  She has been a resident of Upland, CA since 1977.  In 1999, armed with a digital camera, Margaret created a website for the Upland Animal Shelter in order to showcase the impounded animals.  A New York transplant, Margaret was formerly an administrative assistant for a major retail chain and more recently in church ministry in children’s education and administration.  In 2003, she was recognized as one of the top 66 people in the Claremont/Upland area; and in January, 2006 she was named a hometown hero in the City of Upland.  Margaret oversees the day-to-day operation of the organization and is active in all areas of its outreach to the community.  Margaret is married, has a grown daughter and son and shares her home with three rescued dogs and cats.

Kimberly Saxelby, Vice President

Kimberly Saxelby has been an Upland, CA resident since 2002.  A professional photographer, her studio True Emotions Photography has been located in Upland since 2004.  Kimberly has been personally rescuing animals since 1993.  Kimberly began volunteering with HOPE in 2003 and assumed the interim position of Vice President in January, 2005.  She is the mother of a six year old daughter.  She has two dogs and one cat.

 Carol Lombard, Chief Financial Officer

 

 

 

Carol Lombard was born in Canada.  Due to her father's military service, her family traveled extensively.  Carol arrived in Upland when she was  five years old.  Carol earned a Bachelor's in Accounting and MBA in Finance from the University of La Verne. Carol is currently working as a Systems Accountant for the County of San Bernardino.  Carol began volunteering with HOPE in 2003. She assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer in July, 2008.  Carol still happily resides in Upland and enjoys her rescued cats one of which was featured on the cover of the 2006 HOPE calendar.

Dawn Gibson, Secretary

Dawn Gibson has been a California resident for nine years after moving to Southern California from Western New York.  She currently resides in Fontana, CA with her husband and teenaged daughter.  Dawn maintains a full time position as a Project Manager for a well known pet retailer in Phoenix, AZ.  Dawn holds the Board Position of Treasurer for Upland Meals on Wheels and delivers meals in addition to staffing Monday deliveries.  Besides her role as Secretary for HOPE, Dawn also assists in off-site adoption events, fostering, and providing support for the application process.

Janis Moormann, Canine/Feline Director

Janis Moormann is a native of Southern California and Upland, CA resident.  Janis graduated from Upland High School and obtained her Bachelor’s in English Literature from Pomona College where she now works in the business office.  Janis is married and has two grown sons.  Janis was a soccer mom which occupied much of her free time until just recently.  She has always loved animals and has had numerous dogs and cats as pets.  Her role with HOPE is both challenging and rewarding.  Janis particularly enjoys working with prospective adoptive families to find the right match for the best forever home as part of the on-site adoption team and is directly involved with home visitations and placement.

Terry Sengsourichanh, Membership

Terry Sengsourichanh is a native of Long Island, New York.  She traveled to Southern California along with her family in 1980 and currently resides in Montclair, CA.  She worked in the photo industry for twenty-three years before she changed careers.  She is now employed as a library technician at Mt. San Antonio College.  She has been a volunteer with HOPE for eight years and assumed an interim board position in January, 2005.  Terry’s duties include new memberships.  She is also active in off-site adoption events.
